COPPER EYES | MORPHE 35O PALETTE REVIEW

morphe 35o palette, review, kat von d, copper, limecrime, anastasia beverly hills, mac lightscapade

Copper eye looks are obviously massively popular at the minute, and if there is one product out there that emulates the trend, it's the Morphe 35O palette. I picked up the highly sought after staple a while back, and since then they have been some of my most used eyeshadows.

I am all about warm tones, personally I feel like cool tones can look a little odd on me, browns in particular, so this palette is like a dream come true. The possibilities are endless - I use it for every look from subtle brown smokey eyes, to all-out-drag sunset orange looks.

I ordered directly from the Morphe website which yes, is USA based and the postage costs almost as much as the palette, but considering the palette is only $22.99 it's still such a steal.
It contains 35 1" shadows in a mixture of shimmers and mattes. Morphe have actually released the stunning matte-only and shimmer-only versions of this palette if one is more up your street than the other.

Before it arrived, I wondered how such a large palette could be so cheap, and started to worry that the quality of the shadows would be, simply put, a little shitty. However, arrival date came and I couldn't be more pleasantly surprised. The quality of these shadows are phenomenal and totally surpassed all my expectations.  The pigmentation is so strong, the formula is pure buttery goodness and they don't kick up very much excess product which I kind of expected them to do. Some shades can be a little difficult to blend at first, but once you get used to it it's barely noticeable.

The cheap price tag on the palette may not be evident in the quality of the shadows, but it is definitely obvious in the packaging. It is basically just a super thin, super cheap, matte black plastic casing - nothing special. There is no mirror on the inside, and the material between the shadows is an even thinner, flexible plastic overlay. One of my shadow pans has actually already come loose and I have had to glue it back down. As a lot of you may know, I'm usually big on packaging and let it be more important to a product than it admittedly probably is, but this palette doesn't bother me. It's cheap and flimsy, but the actual product is so good, who cares?

I created this look using all Morphe 35O shadows.
Brows: ABH Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brow
Liner: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper
Lashes: Ardell Wispies
Lips: Limecrime Riot
Base: Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation, ABH Contour Kit, Mac Lightscapade
The only things I would change about this palette, are that an added yellow (not bright yellow, similar to MUG Chickadee) and a true red wouldn't go amiss, and that the shadows deserve names. All the shadows are nameless/numberless which makes it difficult when posting makeup looks or even telling a friend which shadows you have used unless you have the whole palette with you for reference.

The Morphe 35O palette is currently sold out, but I highly recommend signing up to their email lists to find out as soon as it's back in.

What do you think of this palette? Would you consider adding it to your collection?
